2016 Ideal Rope Set

Ever year the winner of our Shibari & Kinbaku Photo Contest is granted the ability to design their very own 'ideal rope set'. The 2016 winner, Subay from Hong Kong, designed this rope bundle. Her choosen set of ropes wholistic set capable of complex suspensions and advanced ties.

Kristi's rope set consists of nine lengths of 5mm 'Osaka style' jute rope: 9x 7m (23ft) &  2x 3.5m (11.5ft).

Our latest Osaka inspired asanawa range is more flexable, and lighter weight than our previous asanawa and tossa jute options. This makes the rope quicker to tie with, but, be fairly warned, the trade off is durability. Like most single lay lightweight ropes, this option does not have a life expectancy to equal the tossa jute.

Rope Conditioning Steps

This kit consists of unconditioned jute, and we're talking with Subay now to learn her preferred approach to conditioning, and we'll update this product information with the method shortly.
