At Jade Rope we wanted to offer the Hojojutsu (Hojo Jujitsu) circuit a natural fibre rope that was both economically sensible and competitive in terms of strength and durability.  This 100% natural hemp rope has been braided to eliminate all possibility of ‘opening up’ when contorted.

Providing superior strength, braided hemp rope benefits from reduced stretch characteristics, making this one of the most ‘secure’ natural rope options if you are looking to ensure that anyone with a talent towards escape will remain tied.

Whilst this construction is not a replica of traditional asa-nawa employed in hojojutsu, we know that martial arts is ever evolving and at Jade Rope we’re confident that if the Japanese samurai had access to this hemp rope, they wouldn’t have hesitated one second in making it their preferred cord.

Using an 8 plait construction, as apposed to the 16 plait solid braid this rope option retains it’s flexibility and also holds knots exceptionally well.

Warning: most natural fibre ropes are not rated against loading strength and we always advise against making any assumptions about the breaking point of natural fibre ropes.  You should always avoid putting anyone at risk and regularly check your ropes for wear.
