Tsubaki Oil - 50ml
- Virtually odourless
- Pale gold in colour
- Cold pressed
Tsubaki Oil is made from the seeds of a particular strain of camellia that grows in Japan, the camellia japonica.
Tsubaki (?) has been used for centuries in Asia to nourish the skin and hair - it's properties are known to penetrate deeply and quickly without leaving an oily residue, making tsubaki oil a perfect selection for conditioning natural fibre ropes. In Japan tsubaki was a favoured oil for use in preserving wooden tools and other perishable instruments, meaning tsubaki oil will give you one of the most authentic traditional experiences, especially if you pair this with our asanawa rope range.
Made from 100% camellia japonica (Japanese Camellia) this oil has a light golden colour and is almost odourless. Our tsubaki oil is cold pressed and 50ml is sufficient to condition up to 100-120 metres of rope.
How to Apply Tsubaki Oil
To use, place a few drops of pure tsubaki oil in your palm, or on a leather cloth, and lightly run your ropes threw. You should use the oil sparingly – it will spread further than expected – oily ropes are never appealing.
Tsubaki Oil Hints:
Tsubaki is rich in vitamins, containing A, B, C, and E, it is also a natural source of polyphenol and antioxidants that are promoted as safeguarding your skin from the damaging UV rays. Camellia oil is known to be an effective multi-purpose moisturiser, so your rope bunny will appreciate this selection.
