The Figure Eight is actually a belay device designed for abseiling, however, we have seen these devices used increasingly for substitute suspension rings.

We've selected the this Figure Eight from DMM because it is hot forged for incredible strength and durability. This device is fully anodised for greater protection the shape has also been calibrated for use with ropes up to 12mm in diameter. This means that your rope will not suffer excess stress on bends.

Important: We strongly advocate that you do not use this devices of this nature for full suspensions as this is not their designed purpose, however, they can be an affordable replacement ring ideal for partial suspensions. If you do decide that you have confidence enough in the figure 8 to suspend a partner, be sure that you have not selected an unrated device made of cheaper materials.
